Augustana broke in our new performance space/Mountain Music Lounge on Wednesday with live music and conversation, and they sounded great! Check out the whole session, including bonus material you didn't hear on the air, here.
Meet Duffy! She's Welsh, she's 23, and she has a crazy retro-R & B sound that's awesome. She visited the Mountain Music Lounge to talk about her musical background, other famous Welsh singers, and the advice Paul McCartney gave her -- plus she sang two phenomenal songs from her upcoming CD. Check it out here.

Blind Melon is back together with a new lead singer! The new album, For My Friends, is out now. They visited the Mountain Music Lounge, talking candidly about the death of their former lead singer and revealing what happened on the day they shot the legendary "bee girl" video for No Rain. Check out their full Lounge session here.
Sheryl Crow talks about her new album, writing songs about breakups, and whether her new kid will grow up to be spoiled. Click here to listen to the whole thing.
David Gray from London chatting about his old songs, his new stuff, and his fresh perspective on life. Click here to listen.
Mark Knopfler joined me from his studio in London. Here's how the conversation went: click here to listen.
Paul McCartney's Dead?
Well, that was the rumor in 1969. Re-examine the evidence like I did recently -- check out this site for more.
What am I doing here?
Well, Job One is to get you out of work and on your way home every afternoon without a road rage incident or a blood vessel bursting in your temple due to the stress of Puget Sound traffic congestion. That's what the Attitude Adjustment Hour is for. Between 5 and 6 p.m. I roll sixty minutes of continuous tunes on The Mountain, and I like to think I pick stuff that sounds extra-good in the car. The only interruption is Marty Riemer's 5:20 Funny -- a few minutes of hilarity just when you need it the most. . Actual listener testimonials indicate that an hour in traffic seems a lot less painful if you just keep your hands on the wheel, look out the window at the pretty water, and let me handle the radio.
Job Two is to host the Mountain Music Lounge, and I'm betting you already know what that is, but just in case, it's when musicians drop by the station to chat and play a couple of songs live. Every weekday afternoon at 3:15 there's either a new, live session, or a performance from the archives that deserves another listen. (Scroll back up an inch or two to find out who's scheduled in the Lounge in the near future.) Some of these performances will ultimately wind up on one of our Live from the Mountain Music Lounge CDs, so you're actually hearing history being made.
A few of my favorite things (in no particular order, obviously!): My dogs, music, my scooter, movies, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Lost, Entourage, bicycling, Pilates, cars, The Daily Show, photography, travel, Mrs. Fisher, dining out in Seattle, reading, Whidbey Island, writing, Paris, an icy-cold Bombay martini on Friday after work (straight up with two olives!).
Thanks for listening, and if you have any questions, comments, complaints, suggestions, or rants for me, email me or visit me on MySpace.
